Boruto: Two Blue Vortex: The Secret Role of Amado Sanzu

Dora Naletilić

The Boruto universe presented us with some of the enemies we saw in the Naruto universe, but many of them were actually new to the fans, and that definitely includes Amado Sanzu, a scientist with quite an interesting agenda—he does what he has to do to make his late daughter alive.

Amado Was Always 'Just There'

Looking back at the characters at the beginning of the Boruto universe, one would immediately see that some of them were 'recycled' and thrown into the fray with new Boruto characters, and some fans didn't appreciate it. However, Kishimoto decided to 'spice up' the selection pool of enemies in his new series and decided to create a whole new class of ninja tools—scientific ninja Tools.

The pioneer behind this 'invention' is Katasuke Tōno, a scientist who led the team of people taking care of severely wounded people after the Fourth Ninja World War. However, that specific class of science later developed into something much more, and the inventors behind that were Jigen, the formidable leader of the secret society Kara, and another scientist, Amado Sanzu. The latter helped the former to create a vessel for Isshiki, which turned out to be Kawaki. Amado has always been there, but it seems that his role will get much more important.

His Daughter Akebi is His Everything

Now, Amado wasn't always 'an employee' of Jigen and the Kara plan; he was a proper scientist who only lived for one thing. His daughter Akebi was the light of his life, and when she died of a mysterious disease, Amado dedicated his life to resurrecting his late daughter. He tried everything—from cloning her to simply transferring her brain into another body. It didn't work, and as he thought everything was over, Amado was approached by Jigen, who promised him everything.

Amado took on his new role as a lead scientist in Kara seriously but not without his secret agenda—he wanted to use all of that research to help his daughter. However, after learning of Isshiki's true plan, Amado created Koji, Jiraiya's clone, and secretly planned an attack to prevent the Ōtsutsuki clan from destroying the world. Meanwhile, Amado was also responsible for augmenting Kawaki, who eventually became powerful and one of two children serving the transfer of Kama onto his body. This pushed Amado to change his plan and look for his solution somewhere else.

Amado Has Kawaki in His Hands

After witnessing Kawaki fighting Garo by using his powers, Amado decides to go to Konoha and use their desperation for his own needs—we learned that Boruto carries Kama as well and that Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki will use the boy as a vessel. Naruto is desperate to help his son and lets Amado enter the village. After thorough interrogation and investigation, Amado is granted full amnesty and protection after letting them know what has been happening with the world.

He also reveals that if anyone who has a Kama dies, an Ōtsutsuki member will be revived in their place. Naruto becomes even more desperate and grants the scientist everything just to keep his son safe. That includes Kawaki, who became a proper member of the Uzumaki family—both boys are now connected through their shared struggle in Kama. Nevertheless, Amado definitely holds Kawaki 'hostage' and can easily manipulate his powers since he was the one who augmented and experimented on the boy—Amado is Kawaki's creator.

Conclusion: The Trigger Will be Pulled Soon

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Amado Sanzu has been more or less in the background while the main plotline developed without any pauses. However, it seems that the scientist will become quite 'active,' especially since Kawaki wants his true powers back. Amado is the one who holds all the power, and his influence in the whole situation truly feels like another Madara Uchiha situation, where a secret individual controls everything from the shadows.

Amado is even more curious since he is simply a scientist who is also a dad, not an insanely powerful shinobi like Madara.
