Group Needs to Make Tough Decision in Dandadan Chapter 182
Dora NaletilićShare
In the newest Dandadan, Tatsu served us an amazing chapter before the month-long break. Chapter 182, titled 'Something's Taken the Bait,' sees Count Saint-Germain talking to a mysterious figure, Seiko helping 'Cursed Trunk' victims, and Momo and Class Rep Rin potentially being in danger. A true action-packed manga chapter that will keep every fan of Dandadan on their toes.
Count Saint-Germain Asks a Kur for Help
In the previous chapter of Dandadan, we saw the 'Family' meeting with their old ally, Zuma, who needed to talk to Momo after everything that occurred from their last encounter. Zuma confesses to Momo that he and a child that was stuck with her in the Cursed Trunk are experiencing consequences of being in there. In this chapter, specifically, 182, Count Saint-Germain asks for help from mysterious Kur, a type of alien that we saw during the 'Space Globalist Arc.' This being will have a massive role in what Count Saint-Germain plans.
On the other side of the town, we see the 'Family,' plus Zuma and Daiki, now an old man, as they go to Seiko to ask for help. This is where we see how Jijji and Aira are protective of Momo, especially since she is in a vulnerable situation. As they reach the Ayase residence, they encounter Manjiro, who explains to the gang that Seiko is traveling somewhere.

Seiko Helping Momo and Zuma With Their Problem
Seiko eventually arrives and tells her kids that Vamola and Momo are going with her to cure her granddaughter. Everyone rejoices and asks if they can join them—of course, Seiko says yes. Zuma asks for help for Daiki, and the older Ayase agrees to help the boy. Her kindness shines in this chapter, in which Seiko wants to help kids more than anything, especially to make her granddaughter happy. Suddenly, our resident perv enters the premises in his usual dramatic self, but this time, it seems he actually has a good reason to do it.
Kinta says he knows which teacher is involved in the attacks and the one who threatened Kuoki Yukishiro with explicit photos. However, there is more—our favorite Class Rep, Rin, is in trouble as well.
Class Rep Potentially in Trouble?
After Kinta dramatically tells the gang that Kuoki is alone at the gym with the mysterious perpetrator, they are visibly torn—they need to help Momo to finally regain her normal state but also help their friend in trouble. They make a decision that could inevitably impact the group and change their dynamics forever. Seiko urges the kids to make a decision because they need to arrive at the designated place during the Super Moon, which is important for the whole process of healing Momo.
As the unofficial leader of the group, Aira volunteers to stay behind and help Kuoki and Rin, which Momo really appreciates. Okarun decides to stay as well, making it his mission to protect Momo from outside forces while she's trying to look for the cure. He seems determined, and while Aira happily thinks about Takakura staying with her, the boy is focused on Momo—he promises to her that he will help his friends in need, and she promises back that she will get back to normal. Of course, Momo approves, and the trio of Kinta, Okarun, and Aira go on to save the day at school.
The last panel sees Rin being shadowed by a huge mysterious man.
Conclusion: The Separation of the Group Will Lead to Some Long-Awaited Resolutions
Yukinobu Tatsu truly knows how to make fans of Dandadan go to the edge of their seats and make them 'sweat.' Finally, we're getting closer to Momo getting cured, and the appearance of Zuma and Daiki only enriches the main plot of this story arc. Interestingly enough, on the other side of the 'story spectrum,' Count Saint-Germain reveals his secret weapon that will help him in his plot—a leftover Kur all from the 'Space Globalist arc.' The mysterious being will prove important in his plans, and it feels that the trio that stayed and went to save Kuoki and Rin will be the recipients of their wrath. Another thing to point out is the possibility of a major 'love shipwreck.'
There is a feeling that Aira will be let down by Okarun, and the same will go with Momo and Jiji—the Mokarun ship will most definitely sail since Tatsu loves the dynamic of Momo and Okarun. Their relationship is one of the most consistent things in the Dandadan series, and there is no doubt that the creator himself is setting Aira and Jiji up for a heartbreak. A month break awaits us, and until then, we're going to speculate what will truly happen in the next chapter of this amazing series.
