Potential Villain Hint Unveiled in the New Dandadan Extra

Potential Villain Hint Unveiled in the New Dandadan Extra

Dora Naletilić

Dandadan graced us with an amazing chapter before the end of the very eventful 2024, where we saw great action and massive lore drops for the future of the current saga. However, Tatsu didn't stop there and served us an extra, which definitely feeds into the silliness of Dandadan but also hints at the possible enemy our characters have been dealing with in the last ten chapters.

Miku and Muko Shenanigans

From the beginning of the Dandadan series, Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura, also known as Okarun, evolved from their nerdy, strange, and lonely duo to a group that Seiko fondly refers to as the Family. Many great characters and dynamic duos' close friends joined the fray of this weird group, but there are other characters outside of that 'sphere' that support our characters in other ways. Miko and Muko are two very close friends of Momo that we meet instantly in the Dandadan series. They are your usual side characters—they support their friends (protagonists) but also call them out, mostly in romantic contexts. The duo immediately spotted Momo's affection for Okarun and Yukinobu Tatsu, who always lovingly feature this entertaining duo in his chapters.

Of course, sometimes during story arcs, Miko and Muko cannot be present in certain situations, but after the newest chapter, Tatsu graced us with an extra chapter that is extremely funny but also very insightful in what is currently going on in the Dandadan manga. Miko and Maku are doodling their teacher Mr. Sanjome, also known as Count Saint-Germain, in a very funny way.

Possible Hints at the Mysterious Enemy

Now, this isn't anything deep. Momo and her besties are doodling one of their teachers in a silly way, gossiping about their superiors like every teenager on the planet. But what really got fans' eyes was Muko's doodle of Mr. Sanjome, holding in his hand—which is very similar to small knives known as 'kozuka,' which we saw being used as a tool to take away yokai powers from our protagonists. Of course, Tatsu likes to tease Dandadan fans with extra chapters and specials, but this one is very interesting because it does point fingers to Count Saint-Germain's involvement in recent attacks on Momo and Seiko.

As manga fans know, the fandom is already heavily speculating on this eventual reveal in the upcoming chapters, but it's cool to see how Tatsu acknowledges his audience and lets them know he knows they know—or something like that. Anyway, the extra doesn't end there but follows the trio of Miku, Muko, and Momo to the gym class where they are trying to hold their laughter, thinking about that 'cursed' doodle.

Conclusion: Silly Volume That is Important

This cool extra gave us Miku and Muko 'crumbs,' as some of the Dandadan fans mentioned, but it also provided us with another glimpse of Momo having a normal teenage life with her friends, this time away from the occult, spirits, and other supernatural things. It is also nice to see Tatsu's acknowledgment of fans' awareness of his potential villain in the current story arc, that is heavily hinted to be Count Saint-Germain. Nevertheless, another good week for Dandadan fans, which provided us so much content that will prove to be important for the future of the storyline of 'Pygmy Princess Arc.
