Sakamoto Days Episode 5: The Fight Against a Strong Foe Continues
Dora NaletilićShare
Netflix is getting us more episodes of Sakamoto Days, this time with episode 5, titled 'Source of Strength.'. It continues the epic battle from the previous episode between a powerful foe, Boiled, and legendary assassin Sakamoto, while Lu and Shin are trying to save their mentor's family and try to defeat the other part of the Hard-Boiled duo, Obigure.
Sakamoto Showcases His True Power
In the previous episode, we witnessed an epic fight between Boiled and Sakamoto, former classmates of the hitman training center, and Shin and Lu facing another part of the hard-boiled duo, Obigure. This episode sees the continuation of the epic battle, which sees Sakamoto showcasing his true power. Sakamoto lost weight during the fight, which is very similar to what we saw in Naruto, particularly with Choji Akamichi. Of course, getting thinner meant that Taro became incredibly fast, and that led to him beating Boiled in the end, leading them to become… friends?
On the other side of the amusement park, drunk Lu showcased her potential power, and with her 'drunkness,' she managed to charm Obigure, leading to her saving Shin in the end. The fight ends, but what about Aoi and Hana? Well, Aoi is really mad at Sakamoto for not telling her the truth about what is happening, but Boiled comes to his rescue and actually defends him against the fury of an angry and concerned wife. And while Shin is in awe of Sakamoto's skills, the whole family plans on exposing JAA and Dondekai and a person that put the bounty on Taro's head. Boiled helps a lot there and wishes them good luck in their investigation.

Trio Looks for the Person Who Put Out a Bounty
Now with knowing where to go, the trio of Shin, Lu, and Sakamoto try to learn about the person who put the bounty on Taro's head. With the knowledge of the underground scene, Sakamoto goes to a video store, where they watch a special movie that will lead them to the headquarters of JAA. After the funny shenanigans of the young members of the group, the video store vendor warns Sakamoto about what's waiting behind his bounty.
This leads them to infiltrate the headquarters and eventually go to the place where they will find their answers. What Sakamoto, Shin, and Lu don't expect is Nagumo sitting in the middle of a room filled with dead bodies, waiting for Sakamoto to arrive to tell him some details about his bounty and potential players of the game.
The Order Is Back in the Game
Among everything that has been happening, we also learn that Sakamoto was part of the notorious special force 'The Order,' whose members are incredibly skilled assassins, Nagumo also being part of that group. He doesn't reveal everything, but Nagumo points Sakamoto to places he could look for his answers and warns him if Boiled caused his trouble; he doesn't even want to know what will happen to his former teammate if he faces a member of 'The Order.'.
With that knowledge, Sakamoto returns to his store and, with his family, plans the next course of action, including his training that will help him against dangerous and powerful assassins.
Conclusion: The Stakes Are Getting Higher
Stakes are getting much higher with this episode, and the introduction of 'The Order' indicates they will be major villains in Sakamoto Days. Learning that JAA members and Dondekai assassins are dying left and right puts higher alert on Sakamoto and his family (including Shin and Lu), who now need to train hard to face their enemies. Nagumo is an interesting character with volatile behavior; it is still unclear if he will help Sakamoto or not.
Anyway, besides fans freaking out about animation quality, Sakamoto Days is an interesting anime with a good premise that will for sure get better as more episodes come our way. Episode 6 is already out as well, so look out for our analysis soon!
