Renowned for his visionary direction in acclaimed series like Jujutsu Kaisen and The God of High School, director Sunghoo Park is ready to take the anime world by storm once again. His upcoming project, Bullet/Bullet, is set to enthrall audiences in 2025, marking a significant collaboration with Disney+.
A Glimpse Into Bullet/Bullet
The release window for Bullet/Bullet was recently unveiled during the Disney Content Showcase 2024 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Scheduled to premiere in the summer of 2025, this new anime will stream exclusively on Disney+, bringing a fresh wave of entertainment to the platform. The series was announced with much fanfare, unveiling a tantalizing trailer, an eye-catching key visual, and a distinguished team of creatives behind its production.
The Creative Team Behind the Magic
The script for Bullet/Bullet is crafted by Aki Kindaichi, known for his role in series composition for Uma Musume Cinderella Gray.
Takahiro Yoshimatsu brings his expertise in character design to the table, drawing on experience from works like Hunter x Hunter and Trigun. Additionally, Yoshimatsu will serve as the chief animation director. Esteemed mecha anime artist Hidetaka Tenjin, known for his work in Hellsing Ultimate and Gundam Evolve, is responsible for the mechanical concept artwork and design. Adding an extra layer of dynamic visuals, Shin Misawa, noted for his direction in Initial D and Fire Emblem, will direct car action sequences.
Park's Vision Reaches Fruition
Park, who authored the original story for Bullet/Bullet, expressed his excitement about the project reaching fruition, explaining, “I want everyone to watch the growth story of the main character Gear and enjoy the music, voice acting, and especially the car action.” Park's animation studio, E&H Production, will be the force behind bringing this animated vision to life.
Following the Success of Ninja Kamui
This project follows Park's recent success with the series Ninja Kamui. According to Adult Swim VP Jason DeMarco, the series has been well-received, with exceptional ratings and positive feedback from networks like Cartoon Network and Toonami.
A Part of Disney's Expanding Anime Lineup
Alongside Bullet/Bullet, Disney has a slate of anime announcements lined up. These include the much-anticipated first look at Twisted Wonderland, the CAT’S EYE reboot, the debut of Wandance in 2025, and licensing of Medalist in select regions, further establishing Disney’s commitment to expanding its anime offerings.
Fans can also look forward to the new season of Star Wars: Visions as nine Japanese studios collaborate on this renowned project.
