Exciting News for Whisper Me a Love Song Fans

Fans of the anime series Whisper Me a Love Song have finally received the update they've been desperately waiting for. After a lengthy delay, the official social media account for the anime has announced the broadcast and streaming dates for the long-awaited Episode 11 and Episode 12.

Air Dates for the Season Finale

The two concluding episodes will air consecutively across several Japanese TV networks. Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 28, 2024, when 24 TV Asahi stations nationwide and ABEMA will broadcast the episodes. Following that, BS Asahi will air them on Sunday, December 29, 2024. For those tuning in from AT-X, the final two episodes will air on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

What to Expect from Episodes 11 and 12

The anime’s X (formerly Twitter) account also released intriguing new visuals and descriptions for the final episodes. Episode 11 kicks off the "Culture Festival Arc," which promises to weave together the emotions of each SSGIRLS and Laureley member. The newly released "Culture Festival Edition" visuals feature characters Aki Mizuguchi and Shiho Izumi, heightening anticipation for what is to come. Fans are encouraged to look forward to the storytelling and character developments these concluding episodes will bring.

Challenges and Triumphs

Despite its initial hype as one of the most anticipated anime adaptations of the Spring 2024 season, Whisper Me a Love Song faced its fair share of criticism and operational hurdles. Many fans were disappointed by the animation quality and learned that the series was plagued by production troubles, which notably affected the animators involved. In June, the anime encountered serious setbacks, including two recap episodes and a postponed release for Episodes 11 and 12 without any clear timeline.

These issues were exacerbated when Cloud Hearts, one of the anime’s co-producers, had its website wiped, suggesting potential bankruptcy. Yokohama Animation Laboratory, another collaborator on the series, removed mentions of Cloud Hearts from its website and commented cryptically, stating, "We have nothing to say."

Reactions from Cast and Community

When the air dates for the final episodes were unveiled, Hana Shimano, the voice actor for Himari Kino, expressed immense relief and excitement, stating, "I've been waiting for this," and apologizing for the long wait. The fan community also shares mixed sentiments, balancing hopeful anticipation with cautious enthusiasm due to the series' past challenges.

Looking Forward

With the conclusion of Whisper Me a Love Song on the horizon, fans are eager to see how the series wraps up its first season. For international viewers, HIDIVE will manage the English streaming release, giving fans outside of Japan access to the final episodes as well. Meanwhile, those interested in the manga can find it through Kodansha USA, which distributes Eku Takeshima's work.

Despite the rocky path to this moment, the devoted fanbase of Whisper Me a Love Song will finally enjoy the end of this poignant story, hopefully closing the series on a high note.
