Poetic Justice Is Served in Dandadan Chapter 187

Dora Naletilić

Yukinobu Tatsu graced us with another weekly update, and boy, is this something we needed. The chapter is symbolically titled 'Kick the Crap Outta Murakami!' which can only mean one thing—Kuoki's powers work, Miss Adachi is saved from Murakami's disgusting acts, and Aira once again showcases her incredible leadership.

Kuoki Is the 'Lord of the Flies'

In the previous chapter of Dandadan, we saw Aira trying to save everyone, the truth behind Miss Adachi and Murakami's 'relationship,' and Kuoki reawakening her love for music, which unlocked her power. The weekly update starts with Murakami preparing to have 'his way' with Miss Adachi, who is secretly trying to 'seal' him, or rather summon jianshi, creatures that we saw fighting against Seiko and 'cursed buddies.' However, what both teachers do not expect is a swarm of flies that suddenly enters Murakami's apartment.

On the other side of the city, specifically a gym, Aira, Rin, and Mai are horrified about what they're witnessing—Kuoki doesn't control Rin's power levels or pygmies; she is controlling swarms of insects. Mai, an icon that she is, calls Kuoki 'the Lord of Flies,' giving her a title that the talented girl definitely deserved.

Murakami Is Located

Besides Adachi's jiangshi, swarms of insects entered Murakami's apartment and engulfed him, which the female professor uses for taking away his powers. She uses one of the Kozuka knives to take away Murakami's power, which she manages to do after the disgusting man admits his defeat.

Surprisingly, Adachi attempts to aid Murakami after his powers are taken, but her efforts are in vain. The relentless swarm carries him away, dragging him back to the gym, where a bewildered Rin and Aira struggle to comprehend the unfolding events. Exhausted, Kuoki realizes the gym is eerily empty before collapsing from fatigue. Then, without warning, the swarm returns—this time delivering the disgraced professor Murakami, the mastermind behind the blackmails. As tension rises, the stage is set for an inevitable reckoning.

Aira Showcases Her Leadership

As the chaos unfolds, Aira transforms once again, ready to protect her friends. However, she freezes in shock upon seeing Murakami standing before them. Ever the manipulator, Murakami feigns innocence and attempts to slip away unnoticed, but Aira isn't about to let him escape so easily. With unwavering determination, the pink-haired girl delivers a powerful kick straight to Murakami’s head, demanding answers. Cornered and with no way out, Murakami finally admits to his crimes. Yet, true to his deceitful nature, he makes one last desperate attempt to manipulate Kuoki, reminding her that while he may face severe consequences, the leaked photos will also ruin her reputation if they go public.

The weight of Murakami’s words lingers, but this time, Kuoki isn’t alone—her friends stand beside her, ready to face whatever comes next. Amid the tension, Aira steps up, proving once again why she is one of the coolest characters in Dandadan. Her journey throughout the series has been nothing short of remarkable, and in this moment, she shows just how much she has grown. Without hesitation, Aira unleashes her signature kick once more, determined to teach the perverted professor a lesson he won’t forget. This time, it’s not just about revenge—it’s about standing up for her friends and making sure Murakami answers for his actions.

Conclusion: Poetic Justice Is Served In Every Sense of the Word

Tatsu has a real talent for crafting despicable villains and delivering deeply satisfying conclusions to their arcs. Murakami's downfall is no exception. Kuoki’s moment of triumph not only showcased her incredible powers but also earned her the fitting title of 'The Lord of the Flies,' cementing her as a true force within the group. Meanwhile, Aira solidified her role as both leader and protector, proving her worth through sheer courage and selflessness. Even Miss Adachi, despite all she endured—being used and blackmailed for months—displayed an unexpected sense of empathy toward her tormentor.

But the action is far from over. With Aira set to deliver a well-deserved beatdown to Murakami, the next chapter will shift gears to yet another intense showdown. This time, Okarun and Kinta will face off against Bully-san, who has now fallen victim to a terrifying yokai curse. The stakes keep rising, and this battle is just the beginning!
