Unleashing Samura’s Epic Might in Kagurabachi Chapter 76
Dora NaletilićShare
Chapter 76 of Kagurabachi, titled "Banquet," kicks off with a chilling and dramatic entrance. Seiichi Samura descends from the sky, his black crow-like wings fading as he lands. It’s a calm moment—until it isn't. Hiruhiko showcases his powers and thinks he has beaten a great Swords Bearer but soon realizes that is not the case. Incredibly good chapter and definitely another triumph by Takeru Hokazono. But nothing is quite what it seems in this chapter.
The Trick Behind Tobimune
In the previous chapter of Kagurabachi, we learned that that Samura used Tobimune’s powerful ability to switch places with crow feathers—allowing him to appear and disappear unpredictably in battle. This phantom-like move catches his enemies off guard, making him feel almost untouchable. Tobimune, his Enchanted Blade, is unlike any other. In earlier chapters, it allowed Samura to phase through attacks or replace parts of himself with feathers. But Chapter 76 pushes Tobimune’s potential even further.
Meanwhile, Chihiro tracks Hiruhiko, whose illusion finally wears off, revealing his escape from Samura’s earlier attack. Hiruhiko has grown more dangerous, now wielding Kumeyuri, an enchanted blade with hallucinatory effects. During their confrontation, Chihiro uses Nishiki to amplify his hearing, helping him resist the blade’s illusions. Still, Hiruhiko proves slippery. The Hishaku sorcerer is unpredictable, sadistic, and increasingly unstable.

Hiruhiko Showcases His Abilities
Hiruhiko unveils the second terrifying ability of Kumeyuri, called "Play, which lets him manipulate objects around him. He horrifyingly uses it to control fallen corpses like puppets, treating the dead as nothing more than tools for battle. This act disgusts Chihiro, who sees Hiruhiko’s actions as a mockery of the fallen. Even with the power of Kumeyuri on full display, Chihiro doubts it could bring down someone as formidable as Samura. Just when we think Samura is invincible, Hiruhiko lands a devastating blow.
A hallucination grips Samura—a door from his past that he once feared to open. This psychological attack stuns him. Before he can react, several blades pierce through him. Rou and the others watch in shock as the blind swordsman begins to cough up blood, seemingly defeated. It looks like this might be the end for Seiichi Samura. But, as usual in Kagurabachi, Samura has one more secret.
Samura Is a Sword Bearer and Master For a Reason
As his life hangs in the balance, Samura activates Suzaku, Tobimune’s third and most awe-inspiring ability. From the wounds where blades pierced him, flames ignite—not to destroy, but to heal. Fire engulfs his body, cauterizing and regenerating at once. Like a phoenix rising from its ashes, Samura's wounds vanish, and his strength returns. The imagery is both mythical and poetic—fitting for a warrior of his legacy.
Not only does Samura heal his body, but it also appears he may be restoring his eyesight, adding another layer of mystery to Tobimune’s abilities. Hiruhiko, who moments ago was drunk on power and cruelty, now finds himself cornered. His sadistic enjoyment starts to fade as the true horror of what he’s up against becomes clear. Chihiro, though bruised, remains ready to fight, but it’s Samura’s return that truly shifts the atmosphere. Samura emerges calmly from a swirl of crow feathers, commending Hiruhiko’s tenacity—but he coldly declares that it’s over.
Conclusion: Samura Will Die... But On His Own Terms
Chapter 76 closes with a powerful moment as Samura, revived by the Suzaku ability, returns stronger than ever. Standing tall and composed, he now holds the upper hand, while Hiruhiko finds himself overwhelmed and nearing defeat. The battle takes a dramatic turn, adding more tension to the ongoing war with the Hishaku. Once again, Takeru Hokazono’s storytelling shines through with sharp action, emotional weight, and creative powers that make Kagurabachi a standout series.
With Samura fully restored and Hiruhiko on the edge, Chapter 77 is set to deliver another intense and memorable showdown.
