Sarada Uchiha Finally Gets a New Ability With Mangekyō Sharingan

Sarada Uchiha finally used her Mangekyō Sharingan! After some leaks of the newest Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter, people speculated what kind of ability Sarada would adopt. Many fans actually sighed in relief that we didn't see another Amaterasu or Susanoo ability, which was heavily used by Sasuke and Itachi in the original Naruto series. Ability Similar to Obito's Kamui?

Looking back at Mangekyō Sharingan, the abilities we witnessed in the original series 'were vast, especially with the progression of the story. From Itachi to Shisui, all the way back to Izuna Uchiha, some of the abilities were incredibly unique and powerful, but in this context, we need to highlight Kamui, an ability held by Obito and Kakashi. Kamui was a powerful Mangekyō Sharingan ability with two distinct aspects, each contained within a different eye. Obito’s right eye allowed him to transport parts or all of his body into another dimension, making it appear as though he could pass through solid objects. However, any part of his body that entered this dimension became vulnerable to attacks from within it.

On the other hand, Kakashi’s left eye granted a long-range version of Kamui. This allowed him to create a small portal with a strong pulling force, transporting objects—or even enemies—into the alternate dimension, either entirely or partially. Additionally, the left eye could be used for complete self-teleportation, further expanding its versatility in battle. When Sarada activated her Mangekyō Sharingan ability, it looked like she transported/teleported Ryu's iron sand to another dimension. However, it seems that fans have other ideas.

Ability More Similar to Black Hole?

There is another ability that could be related to Sarada's new power. Chibaku Tensei is a powerful technique in which the user creates a black sphere between their hands and hurls it into the sky. Once activated, the sphere generates an immense gravitational pull, drawing in everything nearby until a massive satellite is formed. The user has control over the size of the satellite, allowing them to adjust its destructive potential.

This technique demands a significant amount of chakra. When Nagato attempted to use it through his Six Paths of Pain, he had to bring the Deva Path closer to his location to effectively channel his chakra, especially in his weakened state. Despite its chakra-intensive nature, Chibaku Tensei remains one of the most devastating abilities, capable of sealing even the most formidable opponents. Since Sarada's ability looks like a 'black hole' that pulls things into itself, fans started speculating that this ability could be brought back after Nagato used it in Naruto Shippuden. However, it's more likely that Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will go even further and combine these two incredibly powerful abilities and create something unique to Sarada.

We still don't know exactly what occurred in the most recent chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex due to a brief representation of Sarada's Mangekyō Sharingan abilities. There is a scenario that Sarada could manipulate objects and transport them anywhere, but also the possibility of her manipulating things like shadows and light, absorbing energy from opponents, or going even further, the ability with which she could cause natural disasters.

These are all fan theories that could definitely work in the world of Boruto, where anything is possible, but is Kishimoto finally willing to give a female character an ability that could potentially be 'world breaking'? It makes sense with her background, but question marks are still there, and hopefully next month an upgrade will clear some doubts about Sarada's new ability that could potentially overshadow even her father's.
